Scales and arpeggios are most of the book. Circle …
Scales and arpeggios are most of the book. Circle of fifths. Stuff that should have been in previous books are just now being introduced. Also most are in really weird time signatures without much explanations.

We love the method and have 5 children all using these books. Best investment we’ve made in our children yet. Bravo!

Music teachers
This is an awesome series. The layout is wonderful. The concepts are pretty well organized. It does flip around in key signature from piece to piece but I’m sure that’s deliberate to encourage the student to think. Luther’s are some lovely pieces.

Cannot easily annotate the kindle version
I have this book in print and it is great. I did want an electronic version to use on my iPad, but I have to say, I can’t figure out how to mark up the music through kindle, and that limits its usefulness to me.

Faber 5 Lesson book
Decent selection of repertoire styles. Wish more keys were explored.

Excelente
Este es el nivel más avanzado de este método, entre sus temas incluye armaduras en tonalidades bemoles y el círculo de quintas, escalas menores (armónica, natural y melódica).Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Not my Favorite
Not crazy about Faber’s level 5 books, but love the earlier level materials.

just ok
I played through the book a few times and really haven’t touched it since. Would like a little more challenge and more songs that are not so boring

Super happy with the Faber lesson books
Level 5 lesson book is a continuation of the Faber piano lesson books 1-4. We have two kids in piano and they both use this series and it’s great! We asked around before they started taking lessons, and the response given by most of our piano playing/teaching friends was to check out the Faber books.

Mixed bag
I’ve been teaching since 1999. I love Faber – that is, I love the clear explanation of new concepts or skill sets and the thorough opportunities for mastery. The options to buy the extra books (Theory, Technique, Performance) are a plus. The supplemental books are fun — well, the Christmas one is; I haven’t used the others yet. The selections are eclectic, which means both boys and girls are exposed to styles of music they can really have fun with. However, there comes a point where it seems as if this series starts to drag. Key signatures, for instance, could be introduced much sooner, and probably should be. My students begin to lose motivation and to bog down around Level 3, when it seems the pacing slows down considerably. And when one reaches to the end of Level 5 . . . where to move on from there? One is not really equipped to play more demanding music. In fact, one of my most advanced students and I were comparing piano courses, and she said, “Gee, John Thompson Grade THREE has more going on in it than Faber, Level Five.” And she’s right.

One of the piano practice book my kid use
My kid had been using Faber piano book from level 1, this book 5 is the last book from Faber i think. It’s good, but one of the thing I don’t like is that the books are little too thin and pricy. Overall, it’s a good practice book.

A little rough around the (literal) edges
Arrived with cover bent/torn. Also a back page ripped. The package itself wasnt bent or worn so I know the item was like this prior to being shipped. It wont effect the actual sheet music, but it’s kind of tacky to sell a product that looks so rough.

Great book series!
I love the piano adventures book series…I recommend getting the lesson book, theory book, and technique book to complete the student’s learning experience. You will find that the Piano Adventures series helps the student to be a well-rounded musician.

Excellent methods books!
The whole Faber series is great. This is the last level of the series. I’ve taught dozens if not hundreds of students with this series.

Lovely pieces, not too difficult
I like how this series of books creates pieces that are based on simple patterns but creates very lovely music. For the level 5 book, these aren’t too advance in my opinion but set a good foundation for tougher pieces.
