My kid expected a flawless new item, but he disappointed. They should check it throughly. When People order a new book, People have a good expectation.

Good book for music students
We ordered this because my son’s music teacher asked us to. However, having seen other piano instructional books, I have to say that I do prefer the Piano Adventures series. The illustrations are colorful and interesting.

Favorite Piano Books
The Piano Adventures are my favorite teaching books for sure. They songs have a lot of variety and they are fun to play. The kids don’t complain that they are stupid or hokey. I recommend this series.

Check out the Performance Books
Piano teacher here. For a long time, I just used the Lesson Books in the Faber series, and didn’t bother with the Theory, Technique & Artistry, or Performance Books. But I finally decided to check out a few. My conclusion: I can cover the theory on my own (and with the help of the theory included in the Lesson Books); the Technique & Artistry books just don’t seem that interesting (I suspect they would bore most of my students); but the Performance Books have some fun pieces, and present technical challenges in a way that’s more fun than the Technique & Artistry Books. So I’ve started using the Performance Books. And it seems like doing the two books at each level (Lesson and Performance) means that students are a bit better prepared to step up to the next level. Give ‘em a try!

My daughter switched to Faber’s Level 1 books after starting out in Alfred’s. She has progressed quickly in the Faber books and they seem to be more of a “click” to her. She’s now entering 3A and is enjoying the new books immensely. We really appreciate the variety available at each level, including Popular Repertoire and Christmas songs. The Faber Theory is also more interesting than Notespeller, which is what she used instead for a couple years.

Piano Adventures
I started out with the Piano Adventures Sight Reading books for my students. (I was looking for performance pieces so I added this to my teaching collection. Level 3a includes hands together, legatos/staccatos, 6/8 time signature, as well as triplets. (M. Struse)

This book contains some slightly more fancy pieces than the others within the same level. I love that the pieces seem to be designed to help motivate the student to move forward and progress. There is a good variation of different styles of music within.

Great for beginners and a lot of fun!
I used this book when I was learning piano in high school as part of the series. Our piano class was very self directed and I think that this book was perfect for that in that the arrangements made sense and were easy to understand, the book offers a lot of tips and extra guidance on top of the sheet music and the songs are fun and engaging. I highly recommend this book for someone who has learned and practiced piano some and is ready for something a bit more challenging without jumping into the really complicated stuff. Great book!
